Our Review
The Platinum Chip is not a card you keep — it's a card you use to get your foot in the ICICI door. The 1x earn rate is terrible, Payback Points are nearly worthless, and there are no real perks. But if you have an ICICI salary account, this card is free and easy to get. Use it for 6-12 months of disciplined spending, build a credit history, and then call ICICI to upgrade to the Coral (for dining benefits) or Rubyx (for premium perks). The IDFC FIRST Classic is a better free card in every way, but if you're committed to the ICICI ecosystem, this is your entry point.
