Our Review

The SELECT competes directly with HDFC Regalia and ICICI Sapphiro in the premium card space. Its edge is the 10x on dining and travel categories — if you eat out frequently and travel for work, these accelerated rates can significantly outperform Regalia's flat 4x. The quarterly milestones (2L/quarter for 2,500 points) are more frequent and achievable than annual milestones on competing cards. The 8x on international spends is a nice bonus. The main risk factor with any Axis card is EDGE point devaluation — Axis has a track record of changing the goalposts. If you trust the current valuations and your spending aligns with dining and travel, SELECT edges ahead of Regalia.

Pros & Cons

  • + 10x on dining and travel — excellent accelerated categories
  • + 8x on international spends — good for foreign transactions

Cons

  • - No fee waiver below 3L spend — must hit the threshold
  • - EDGE point devaluations can erode value
  • - 3,000 fee is higher than HDFC Regalia's 2,500 for similar specs
  • - International lounge cap (4) is lower than competitors
